Panic Attack Sufferers Need Support

Support from friends and family is an essential component of treatment for an anxiety and panic attack sufferer. They are sacred and confused about the onset of this illness, and they feel alone as if they are not normal anymore.  Showing them that you support them when they need you will alleviate some of these feelings. You have an opportunity to strengthen your relationship and pull each other closer through this episode of their life.

It is important to learn as much as you can about anxiety and panic attacks, so that you can support the patient as they try to conquer panic attacks.  You will never truly understand the constant fear involved with the condition, but will be able to learn what is happening to them. Anxiety is can mean living in fear every day, and fear makes you think irrationally. You need to realize that their thoughts will be irrational and that you can help bring them back to reality by coaching them.  It is a big job, and it will take time to learn techniques and develop trust, but if you continue to be therefore them, then everything will work out.
