Most people are familiar with the concept of panic attacks, which are sudden bursts of uncontrollable fear and anxiety that lead to unwanted physical effects like rapid heart rate. But for some people anxiety plays a much larger role in their life.

Panic disorder is a medical condition where a person feels nervous or anxious across multiple situations. Depending on the severity of the case, they might even feel anxious all the time for unexplained reasons. Even the simplest tasks such as driving or leaving their home can evoke feelings of danger and panic. As more and more activities become associated with anxious thoughts, the patient can begin to feel insecure in all aspects of their daily life.

The most common symptom of panic disorder is of course panic attacks, but there are other common symptoms that can appear. Dizziness in stressful situations, feeling faint, and even muscle spasms are commonly reported side effects. Some patients even experience derealization, where they feel out of touch with the world around them. All of these side effects evolve from a fear of panic attacks. As the mind becomes more aware of environmental factors that trigger a panic episode it begins to displace that fear into other physiological signals.

Because panic disorder can morph into more complex symptoms, it is important to treat the disorder as early as possible. The longer a patient goes without treatment the more the brain begins to produce alternative signals. Some long term suffers can even go months without a full blown panic attack, but there lives are still filled with other anxiety-related symptoms. As the patient struggles to identify “safe places” where they are not stricken with anxiety, the scope of their daily activities becomes much more limited.

Rebuilding confidence in one’s mental capabilities is the most important part of treating panic disorder. Understanding that anxious feelings are normal occurrences that can be managed is the key to success. This requires the use of coping strategies, whether with medication or psychological training techniques like those found in Panic Away. Once the patient masters a coping technique, they will slowly build the confidence required to take the next steps in their recovery from panic disorder.

Anxiety is its purest form is a natural reaction to perceived danger or stress. It occurs as a defensive mechanism to warn you of potential problems. But when does anxiety become more than what it was intended to be?

There are many examples of occurrences that are likely to spawn long-term anxiety issues. Panic attacks, loss of a loved one, and prolonged stress can all increase the baseline level of your anxiety. The difference for some people is the fact that they cannot return to their pre-event levels. They become obsessed with worry or despair. The primary indicator of a long-term anxiety issue is when the person alters their normal behavior to accommodate unrealistic fears. This could be as simple as not returning to a specific place, or as complicated as becoming imprisoned by their fears. Either way, recognizing the fact that anxiety has changed your normal behavior is an easy way to determine how serious your condition is.

If you find yourself repeatedly avoiding certain situations or activities, then it is likely that your anxiety has grown into a more serious condition. It is important to break this cycle immediately in order to avoid further degeneration. Seeking therapy through a professional, or with a resource such as Panic Away, can help to identify the cause of your anxieties while learning how to overcome them.

Anxiety is a fairly complex state of being that encompasses three tiers of body activity – psychological, emotional, and behavioral. All of these components recycle anxiety and produce side effects for each specific category.

The psychological issues center around your bodies learned response to certain activities. If anxiety and panic attacks become associated with a certain task, then you mind will send you signals to avoid those situations.

Emotional effects are also developed through experiences, but on a different level. Emotions portray a deeper association with the activity, focusing more on how you feel. Fear is the most common emotional response to anxiety, and it can be significantly enforced through repeated episodes.

Behavioral responses are the ways you react to your anxieties. Whether it is leaving an area or simply sitting down, behavioral reactions to anxiety are more physical in nature. They are usually the most outward expression of your response to anxiety.

As you can see, anxiety affects us in a wide range of ways. While many confuse anxiety disorders as strictly psychological, the fact is that there are also behavioral and emotional affects as well. Because of this, it is important to have multi-facet treatment appraoch to anxiety disorders. This can include medication, therapy, and modern methods like Panic Away.

Anxiety disorders have a number of different sub-categories, but they all share similar symptoms. The most common being a phobia or nervous condition that can keeps a normally healthy individual from enjoying a normal lifestyle. Some disorders can develop quickly, while others slowly get worse over a number of years before becoming disabling to the sufferer.

All anxiety disorders keep sufferers from leading normal productive lives and in chronic cases can disable the sufferer completely. Anxiety disorders can either begin at an early age or be triggered by a specific event in the sufferer’s life. An anxiety attack is likely to take place when the sufferer is under a lot of stress.

There are a few different therapies that can be used to reduce the effects of an anxiety disorder. Medications for chronic sufferers can be anti-depressants, benzodiazepines and Quetiapine. There are also natural drug free therapies that can be used alone or with pharmaceutical drugs. These therapies include counseling and behavioral modification therapies.

When a person believes they may be suffering from an anxiety disorder, they should see a doctor immediately. A doctor will be able to discuss the symptoms with the patient and decide on the best treatment for the individual. If traditional treatments are not effective, then there are other alternatives like the Panic Away Method.

Trigger effects differ between Anxiety Attacks and Panic Attacks.

The major difference between anxiety and panic attacks is that an anxiety attack has more prolonged symptoms. It harnesses the power of built up feelings and stress, but the sensations are not s intense. Conversely, panic attacks can occur without warning and overpower the senses.

So in summary, an anxiety attack is a long-term compounding effect of stress and emotional strain, while a panic attacks is a quick burst of anxiety and fear that does not always have a trigger symptom.
